I always have had a keen interest in everything related to the ocean. I have maintained this focus through a career in ocean technology, technical drawing, and Art.
My first technical studies were in industrial design; I've worked as a commercial designer in various production and commercial departments; the main one being "Grupo Europeo Havas", specializing in Graphic Design and Marketing, but also sharpening my knowledge of AutoCAD software.
I would like to take this moment to send all my love as well as my unconditional support to my daughter Vanessa back home. In 1992, I chose the Island of Cozumel as my home; the first exposition of my pictorial art was held here.
Cozumel is also where I started building a few of my first Concrete Art, an Artificial Reef System, which in term provides Habitat to a local fauna in need, especially after Natural phenomenons such as Hurricanes.
I became co-pilot of the Atlantis Submarines, and started developing an hotel / station underwater project named "Aquabitat".
It was during this period that I built the first "aquasculpture" prototype using stainless steel and translucent fiberglass, in combination with a resin and calcium carbonate, a new technique in this type of construction. Later, this project evolved into series of habitats, incorporating a disassembly system in case of a hurricane, installation of interior lighting, and a digital underwater video system that monitors these structures in real time.
Other work of which I am very proud includes the design and artistic decoration project of Belize Tourist Village, surrealist paintings, murals, domes, sculptures, and interior design work for various businesses in the United States, Central America and the Mexican Caribbean.
